About Emily
Emily began her career aged just 15, when she joined one of the worlds leading hairdressing teams - Toni & Guy. Within the company she enjoyed success achieving Advanced Diplomas in both styling and technical. Technical colouring was something she pursued further and went on to achieve the coveted L'Oreal colour degree. Emily got a name for herself at a young age for being a passionate and creative individual whilst salon based, taking part in many competitions such as the L'Oreal Colour Trophy, Wella Trend Vision and various fashion events including London Fashion Week. This gave her a taste of the fast paced side of the industry she wanted to break into. She also trained at this time with MAC to extend her natural skill and flair for make up. After 6 years, Emily decided to further her career and moved to London to work independently.
Her client list includes The Guardian, Topshop, Boots, MTV, Levi's and ASOS as well as several London based production companies for TV work. Alongside this, Emily maintains a vast clientele including celebrities and actors - work which takes her across the UK and the world.
The decision to set up The Wedding Hair Company grew from the demand in this area of her work. After many years and happy clients, Emily knew growing and developing this side of her business was essential. The stylists that have been personally handpicked for this exciting venture are Emily's contemporaries and most respected peers, they all uphold the same passion for outstanding hair and make up which this field demands.
"Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with hair as a material. The way you can manipulate and alter its appearance has fascinated me. I think this interest has really driven me to learn and progress, as it has always felt so natural and good to learn. I don't envisage a 'finished product' for myself as you can constantly improve and develop your skills through the people you meet and the inspiration they give you. Client work is something I still take a great passion in also, I foresee that to always be the case. I take great pleasure in improving a client's image and making them feel good - some of my closest friends today began as clients. The balance between this and career work is perfect for me and I feel very lucky to be able to do something I love this much every day." EK
