ahhhhhhhhh Tom Ford face perfecting joy!

I recently had the absolute joy of looking over the Tom Ford new summer collection and the range as a whole being given an insight into the mind of Tom Ford Beauty and who, in his mind he is creating the range for.
I have always been completely fascinated with Tom Ford, his impeccable dress sense and razor sharp tailoring - its like I can imagine his wardrobe now, so neat and perfect, organized with millimeter precision, god it thrills me! So naturally - his beauty range was of massive interest to me so I jumped at this invitation.
Across the whole Tom Ford empire, there is one thing his creations all have in common, and that is the way they make you feel as though you are in possession of something not only expensive but something rare. You feel like you are being spoiled, be that a spray of one of his fine fragrances, the feel of his fabric against your skin or his sunglasses balancing on your nose - you feel like you are wearing something which has had the up-most consideration and thought gone into making you feel exactly like that. And that is the magic and essentially the attraction to him for me personally - and I suspect I am not alone.
Putting that same emotional power into a product range available to the public of the whole world is no easy task - but he has 100% achieved it.
The Make Up - I want to focus this post now on the one product which I think encapsulates what is unique about the range in a single item and this is the 'Shade & Illuminate'. On first look, you think...no that's not for me. A white and brown cream, they look intimidating I think for a non make up artist as even the lightest of the two colour options look terrifyingly dark! But armed with the right tool (there is a brush in the range specifically for this product, however I have found the MAC 130 to be my preferred option) for the job this ingenious sculpting tool can give you definition and angles hidden on your face that you never even knew were there. The idea of the product is to essentially expose your cheek bones by darkening below them, and lightening above them. Contouring - think Kim Kardashian!
The staff on all Tom Ford counters are highly trained and knowledgeable in the range and I have found them a pleasure to meet. They are well aware they are selling an absolutely premium product - there is no trashy up sell or pushy suggestions of extras that you simply 'can't live without'. Make up application is complimentary on the 11 counters selling Tom Ford nationwide, not many so may mean a bit of travel if you want to try before you buy, but so worth it in my opinion.
Shade & Illuminate is £55 and more information is available here on the Tom Ford website.
